Postdoctoral Fellowship

The postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at Saint Louis University School of Medicine will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary research team focused on investigating the epidemiology of suicide/self-harm, suicide prevention, intervention, and other pertinent mental health issues.

The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects while also pursuing their own research agenda in line with the department’s objectives.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting research on the epidemiology of suicide/self-harm and related mental health issues.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of suicide prevention and intervention strategies.
  •  Collaborating with faculty and staff on research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Writing reports and academic papers for publication in relevant journals.
  • Participating in grant writing and seeking funding opportunities.
  • Engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration within the department and with external partners.
  • Assisting in the mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects.
  • Adhering to ethical guidelines and regulations governing research involving human subjects.
