General Surgery Residency- Categorical Position
An unexpected PGY 2, General Surgery categorical position has become open at McLaren Greater Lansing (MGL) in Lansing, MI starting July 1, 2025. MGL is a new 600 million dollar hospital with a very established, highly competitive history.
We have a direct affiliation with Michigan State University and work with numerous other medical schools both in and out of state. We are known for our high case volume and our continued success of turning out highly trained residents who are well prepared to start practice or to transition into competitive fellowships. This is a categorical position that can progress through our 5 year program.
Prerequisites:
Applicants must have completed at least one year of an ACGME approved General Surgery Residency (Preliminary or Categorical) and be in good standing. Applicants must meet all the application requirements as listed on our website. Please include all prior ABSITE scores. We do not accept VISAS.
Minimum Entrance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen or hold a valid green card
- MGL does not sponsor or accept visa candidates
- Passing score on first attempt of all USMLE/COMLEX scores
- Completion of medical school within 4 years, no educational related extensions
Passing scores for Step 1 and both parts of Step 2 are required prior to the rank list due date.
