General Surgery Residency-Categorical Position
The General Surgery Residency Program at Howard University Hospital is seeking to fill a PGY-4 Categorical General Surgery position with a start date of July 1, 2025. Applicants must have successfully completed their PGY-1, PGY-2, and PGY-3 years of training at an accredited surgery program by this start date.

Our General Surgery Residency Program’s integrated and affiliated training sites include rotations in Surgical Oncology, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Gastrointestinal, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary, Solid Organ Transplantation, Surgical Critical Care, Pediatric Surgery, General Surgery, Emergency General Surgery, and Trauma / Acute Care Surgery at the following sites: Howard University, Johns Hopkins University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, University of Maryland, Children’s National, Adventist White Oak / Shady Grove Hospitals, Luminis Health Doctors Community Hospital, and Holy Cross Germantown / Silver Spring.
Prerequisites:
By this start date, applicants must have successfully completed their PGY-1, PGY-2, and PGY-3 years of training at an accredited surgery program.
