Research Fellowship in Emergency Medicine
The Ohio State University Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship is designed to prepare emergency physicians for a clinician-investigator career in emergency care. The two-year fellowship includes mentored research, completion of a Master of Public Health in clinical translational science, biostatistics or epidemiology, and clinical duties.
The fellow will identify an area of focus and will complete several research projects, manuscripts and at least one grant application during the fellowship. OSU has a strong contingent of clinician-researchers, with specialization in geriatrics, infectious diseases, neurologic emergencies, resuscitation and EMS. In addition, there is a basic science option in resuscitation research for interested applicants. The goal is for the fellow to submit an NIH level grant (K or R) by the end of the fellowship. Fellows will work approximately two clinical shifts per week. The fellowship is certified by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
Prerequisites:
The fellowship is for physicians who have completed emergency medicine residency training and are able to practice Emergency Medicine in the United States. An Ohio medical license will be required before starting the fellowship.
