GI Pathology Fellowship

The GI Pathology Fellowship is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program. The program is both clinically and academically oriented and focused on the development of diagnostic skills in the areas of gastrointestinal, liver and pancreas pathology, including neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases.

Our division provides a robust volume of excellent and diverse materials for the education of our clinical fellows. In addition to acquiring microscopic diagnostic skills, our fellows supervise the pathology residents’ grossing and previewing of cases before signing out the cases with the attending pathologist. Faculty are actively involved as teachers, role models, scholars, advisers, and mentors who are committed to helping trainees achieve success.

Educational activities aimed at providing an avenue for reinforcing medical knowledge, in addition to daily sign-out sessions and clinicopathologic conferences and tumor boards, include didactic sessions and journal clubs. The fellows are also exposed to a variety of clinical/translational research opportunities in which they are expected to actively participate
