Vascular Surgery Fellowship
Advocate Vascular Surgery in Chicago, Illinois, is accepting applications for its two-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Vascular Surgery. The appointment is scheduled to commence in August 2026 and is designed to lead to board certification. Applicants must be board certified or board-eligible in General Surgery by the fellowship start date. Interested and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply promptly.

Our fellowship offers an extremely busy clinical experience involving, a large number and variety of open and endovascular cases over a diverse patient population. Cutting-edge techniques and technologies are utilized to manage the full breadth of vascular pathology.
Fellows will have the opportunity to rotate through 3 clinical sites including Lutheran General Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Illinois Masonic Hospital. There is an emphasis on complex aortic pathology, complex dialysis access, advanced endovascular interventions, noninvasive diagnosis, and clinical research. There is ample opportunity to present at national meetings and produce peer-reviewed publications during both years.
The mission of the Advocate Vascular Surgery Fellowship program is to train fellows to gain both technical skills and clinical acumen to understand all forms of arterial, venous, and lymphatic disease. Our program serves a diverse community of patients with a broad spectrum of vascular issues. Additionally, fellows are expected to gain skills in research and leadership to become excellent clinical and academic vascular surgeons.

Prerequisites:
Successful completion of a general surgery residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
How To apply:
- Complete ERAS application
- Three (3) letters of recommendation (one must be from your general surgery residency’s program director)
- Personal statement
- United Sates Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) scores
- ABS In-Training Examination (ABSITE) scores
- Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate, if applicable
