General Obstetrics and Gynecology Research Fellowship

The Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to developing the next generation of exceptional clinician researchers to advance the science and delivery of obstetric and gynecologic care across the lifespan. To achieve this goal, the Division offers a 2-year clinical-research fellowship with the aim to increase the number of academic specialists who can embark on successful faculty careers, engaging in clinical care, research, and teaching.

Faculty who serve as mentors in the program come from within the Division and across the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the School of Medicine, the Gillings School of Global Public Health and the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute with successful careers in perinatal and gynecologic research, methodologic expertise and successful track records of publications, research presentations and grants.

Prerequisites:

  • Applicants must have a Medical Degree (MD/DO)
  • Completed an approved residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and be eligible for independent licensure by the North Carolina Medical Board
  • Eligible candidates for oral board certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Be in good standing within their residency program
  • Have strong track record of professionalism
