Orthopaedic Surgery Research Fellowship

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Luke’s University Health Network invites medical students between their third and fourth years along with graduated medical students to apply for a one-year clinical research fellowship, starting in July of 2026.

This position at St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bethlehem, PA will provide an outstanding opportunity to work with distinguished faculty and will allow the applicant to enhance his or her application for residency. The research fellow will be working directly with Dr. Douglas Lundy, Chairman of the Department, Chief of Trauma Surgery, and Past President of the Orthopedic Trauma Association; Dr. Kristofer Matullo, Vice Chairman, Program Director, and Chief of Hand Surgery; and Dr. Dustin Greenhill, Associate Program Director, and Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.

Research projects will be varied across the spectrum of orthopaedics, ranging from orthopaedic trauma, adult reconstruction, hand surgery, spine, oncology, and pediatric orthopaedics. The research fellow will also have the opportunity to collaborate with residents and medical students to develop and publish in reputed orthopedic journals. Along with research duties, this fellowship also offers the researcher opportunities to participate along with the residents in their weekly conference, cadaver labs, business of orthopaedics lectures, grand rounds, and journal clubs. The researcher must be independent, driven, and resourceful.
