Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine Fellowship
The Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine Fellowship at Children’s Mercy has 2 available fellowship positions with a July 2026 start date.
The Children’s Mercy Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Medicine Fellowship is an ACGME-accredited fellowship for physicians trained in pediatrics, family medicine, and/or internal medicine. Our curriculum includes a large variety of clinical training experiences with flexibility for fellows to tailor their learning to best support their interests and future career goals. Our faculty include clinician educators and NIH-funded researchers, come from pediatrics and family medicine backgrounds, and have diverse interests in the field of AYA medicine. Our Title X clinics provide excellent training in reproductive health care, with a high volume of contraceptive implant and intrauterine device procedures. We maintain a balance between clinical training and formal educational opportunities including fellowship-specific didactics and a hospital-wide common fellowship curriculum. Children’s Mercy provides internal grant funding for research, and funding for fellows to pursue certificate or master’s degrees in pediatric bioethics, health professions education, bioinformatics and clinical research, or public health during their fellowship. Our fellows enjoy excellent work-life integration and hospital-sponsored wellness support.
