Epilepsy Fellowship
The ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Epilepsy (Adult Track) at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center (NS/LIJ) is founded upon competency-based education, including medical knowledge, patient care, practice-based learning and improvement, systems-based practice, interpersonal and communication skills, and professionalism. The program stresses acquisition of medical knowledge and the clinical and surgical skills required for excellent care of patients with epilepsy and related conditions.
This fellowship begins in July 1, 2025. During the year of training, fellows are given a broad and in-depth clinical experience in the medical and surgical management of seizure disorders and in the technical, interpretive, and clinical aspects of electroencephalogram (EEG). Upon completion of the program, fellows will become eligible for the ABPN subspecialty certification in epilepsy.
Prerequisites:
Candidates must have successfully completed an ACGME- or RCPSC-accredited program in neurology from a U.S. or Canadian-accredited program. Ideal applicants should be conscientious and reliable team players with good communication skills, a solid basic foundation in neurology, and a passion for taking care of patients with epilepsy.
