General Surgery Residency
The Department of Surgery at Michigan Medicine, the academic medical center of University of Michigan, is seeking a PGY-3 categorical general surgery resident to begin on 7/1/2026. We are in the process of receiving ACGME approval for a temporary complement increase for this position; after the PGY-3 year, the resident would fill a vacant position.

Residents completing training at the University of Michigan are well-positioned for highly competitive fellowship programs and many go on to leadership positions at academic surgical programs.
Prerequisites:
Interested candidates must have successfully completed PGY-1 and 2 (categorical or preliminary) years in General Surgery by 6/30/2026 and be in good standing within their current ACGME accredited program. This position does not include dedicated research time.
