General Surgery Residency
The Department of Surgery at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is currently recruiting for a PGY-2 Categorical General Surgery Resident.
Located in West Virginia’s capital city, the 956-bed tertiary care medical center is composed of four hospitals and draws patients from both urban and rural areas, offering our team a diversity hard to find elsewhere. Because CAMC’s service area spans the southern half of the state, we provide a wide range of specialty services and draw a broad range of challenging referrals.
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of PG-1 year in an ACGME accredited residency program prior to start date and must be in good standing.

- Current Curriculum Vitae
- Three Letters of Recommendation from current faculty. Must be from experience in the last 12 months. Must include a letter from the program director.
- USMLE and/or COMLEX report. Must have a pass on first attempt for USMLE Step 1 for allopathic applicants or COMLEX Level 1 for osteopathic applicants and a USMLE Step 2 score of at least 230 on the first attempt for ALL applicants. First time pass on Step 3 USMLE or COMLEX.
- Medical School Transcript and Diploma.
- In-training exam (ABSITE) results for all years of training.
- Most Recent ACGME Milestone Report
- List of completed rotations
- Current report of ACGME case log defined category and PGY2 minimums report
- Copies of current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certification
- International graduates should provide a copy of ECFMG certification and visa status if applicable
- For international applicants: J-1 Visa offered only, Permanent Resident or Green Card Holder, Work authorization
