General Surgery Residency-Categorical Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, TX is seeking a PGY-3 General Surgery resident to begin in July 2025.  This is to fill a position for a resident departing for research related activities.

This is a categorical position in our five-year general surgery residency; preliminary residents are expected to apply and we will not interview categorical residents from other programs without written permission from your current program director.

The position is supported and is funded by Baylor Scott & White.  Salary and benefits will be shared with applicants as requested.

Prerequisites:

All applicants must have completed PGY 1 and PGY 2 training in a General Surgery Residency in good standing.

  • MSPE
  • USMLE Transcript (a first-time pass on exams is required)
  • Personal statement
  • 3 letters of recommendation – 1 from current Program Director
  • Defined Category Case Log and General Surgery Year 2 minimum Case Log
  • ABSITE Scores from previous years of training
