General Surgery Residency- Categorical Position

The General Surgery Program at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, IL is a five-year ACGME-accredited Surgery Residency Program. We are recruiting a PGY-3 categorical resident.

Prerequisites:

Applicant must have completed an ACGME accredited general surgery residency program PGY-2 year by July 1, 2025 and be in good standing. Applicant must be available to start for orientation on July 1, 2025. We do sponsor J1 visas.

Qualified applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Brief Personal Statement
  • Medical School diploma and transcript
  • Dean’s Letter (MSPE)
  • USMLE Steps 1, 2 & 3 Reports
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendations, including letter from current program director (if applicable)
  • Rotation schedule from PGY-1 & PGY-2
  • Current ACGME case log
  • ACGME Milestone summaries from PGY-1 & PGY-2
  • All ABSITE Scores from PGY-1 and PGY-2
  • Current ATLS, BLS, ACLS certifications
  • ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
