General Surgery Residency-Categorical Position
The General Surgery Program at New York Presbyterian Queens, a five-year ACGME-accredited Surgery Residency Program, is currently recruiting for a PGY-4 categorical resident.
We are a Level 1 Trauma center located in Queens, NY with 21 operating rooms, including 3 dedicated DaVinci robots, a Hybrid OR with a Simulation Center. Residents cover a variety of services and get hands on experience in general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, breast surgery, surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, endocrine, plastic and vascular surgery.
Prerequisites:
Applicant must have completed an ACGME accredited general surgery residency program PGY-3 year by June 23, 2025 and be in good standing. Applicant must be available to start for orientation on June 17th and 18th.

- ERAS application or equivalent including:
- Current Curriculum Vitae (CV),
- Brief Personal Statement,
- Medical School diploma and transcript,
- Dean’s Letter (MSPE),
- USMLE Steps 1, 2 & 3 Reports,
- Three (3) Letters of Recommendations, including letter from current program director
- Rotation schedule from PGY-1, PGY-2 & PGY 3
- Current ACGME case log
- ACGME Milestone summaries from PGY-1, PGY-2 & PGY 3 (*if possible, though this will be required upon transfer if accepted into the position)
- All ABSITE Scores from PGY-1, PGY-2 & PGY 3
- Current ATLS, BLS, ACLS certifications
- ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
