General Surgery Residency – Categorical Position
The General Surgery Residency Program at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC has an open ACGME accredited categorical position for a PGY 4 beginning academic year 25-26.
Prerequisites:
Prior to the start date, completion of 3 years in an ACGME accredited general surgery residency training program in the US is required. Applicants must be in good standing and have the full support of their program director. We can only sponsor J1 Visas at this time.

- CV,
- brief personal statement,
- medical school diploma,
- medical school transcript,
- Dean’s Letter,
- USMLE Parts I, II and III,
- ABSITE scores and reports for all years completed,
- 3 letters of recommendation including one from your current or most recent Program Director,
- ACLS, ATLS, FLS, FES certifications if available,
- Current ACGME “General Surgery Defined Category” case log reports and
- ACGME milestone reports,
- previous rotation schedules,
- all rotation evaluations
- semiannual performance reviews,
- ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
