General Surgery Residency-Preliminary PGY-2 Position
The General Surgery Program at Stony Brook Medicine has an opening for a PGY-2 preliminary residents to start on July 1, 2025, for the 2025-26 academic year.
Prerequisites:
All applicants must have completed a first year of training in good academic standing with an ACGME accredited program with successful completion of Step 1 and Step 2 USMLE/COMLEX examinations by 2nd attempt.
International medical graduates must have a current valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). We only accept J-1 Visas sponsored by ECFMG.

- 3 current letters of recommendation, 1 from current Program Director
- ABSITE Score Report
- USMLE/COMLEX transcript (must pass by 2nd attempt)
