Laryngology Fellowship

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery accepts one laryngology fellow per year.

This one-year fellowship offers a unique learning opportunity to work alongside adult and pediatric laryngologists, speech pathologists and voice researchers. As a fellow, you will be immersed in a clinically active, high-volume, multidisciplinary environment that focuses on the treatment of voice, swallowing and airway disorders.

You will gain experience in the surgical treatment of benign and malignant vocal folds lesions, as well as surgical and non-surgical management for neurologic, psychogenic, and inflammatory voice disorders, swallowing dysfunction, and airway stenosis. Fellows have operating privileges at University Hospital, William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, American Family Children’s Hospital, Meriter Hospital, and Mauston Hospital. The comprehensive clinical experience includes office evaluations, office-based procedures and operative interventions. In addition, the fellow runs an independent clinic at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital.

Prerequisites:

Accepted fellows must acquire a Wisconsin medical license and be certified as an American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery member.
