Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency
Due to the recent ACGME approval of a permanent complement increase, the Rutgers Health Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is seeking qualified candidates to join our program as a PRELIMINARY PGY-1 resident.
Prerequisites:
Qualified applicants must be available to start July 1, 2025. Candidates cannot have any PGY-1 position through the 2025 National Residency Matching Program or Supplemental Offer and Acceptance program (‘SOAP”}. All applicants must have successfully passed USMLE/COMLEX Step Examinations 1 & 2.

The following application materials should be emailed as a single pdf document to Gina.Apuzzio@rwjbh.org with “Preliminary PGY-1 Position” in the subject line.
Please do not contact by phone, mail, or fax. Applicants with completed packets will be notified by email if selected for an interview.
- A copy of your complete ResidencyCAS application, which should include your personal statement, MSPE, final medical school transcript, letters of recommendation
- USMLE and/or COMLEX scores and score reports
- ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
- If transferring from another residency program (general surgery, family medicine, etc.), please include, if not included in your ResidencyCAS application:
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty members with whom you currently work.
- Letter of good standing from your current Program Director with verification of your current level of training, documentation of any leaves of absence, non-promotion, remediation or probation, and willingness to release you from your current training contract.
