St. Joseph’s University Medical Center (SJUMC) is now accepting applications for 2025-2026 Orthopaedic Surgery Research Fellowship Position: Research Fellow

The Spine and Sports Medicine Divisions of the Orthopaedics Department at the St. Joseph’s University Medical Center (SJUMC) in Paterson, New Jersey invite US medical school graduate students to apply to the 1 year salaried, clinical research fellowship. We are seeking ambitious, motivated, self-directed and highly organized applicants who wish to expand their knowledge of Orthopaedic Surgery and increase the competitiveness of their residency application. To date, 100% of our past research fellows have matched into an orthopaedic surgery residency program.

As a research fellow, you will work under the direction of Dr. Arash Emami, Department Chairman, and Dr. Anthony Scillia, Residency Program Director, for SJUMC. The research fellow will work closely with the SJUMC residents, faculty, and other institutions on ongoing research projects and database maintenance. Additionally, the research fellow works with, teaches, and mentors premed students and medical students. The research fellow also attends weekly lectures, ground rounds, and educational activities including cadaver lab, conferences, and journal clubs.
