Pathology Residency
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine announces the availability of one (1) position at the Postgraduate Year Two (PGY-2) level within its ACGME-accredited Pathology Residency Program.
Commencement Date: July 1, 2025
Prerequisites:
- Successful completion of at least one year of training in an ACGME-accredited Pathology Residency Program by June 30.
- Eligibility for Kentucky medical licensure.
- U.S. citizenship or appropriate visa status. The University only sponsors J1.
- Applicants must meet the University of Louisville’s employment criteria and comply with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) standards for participation in the Pathology Residency Program.

- Three Letters of Recommendation (including one from your current Program Director)
- RISE scores • USMLE Step 1, 2, and 3 scores
- ECFMG certificate for international medical graduates
- Medical School Transcript and Diploma
- Verification of prior training and a sub-competency evaluation letter from applicant’s current/previous program director(s) confirming all rotations completed successfully and the applicant has met or exceeded the expected competency level for their stage of training.
- Current Milestone evaluations submitted to the ACGME.
