PGY-4 General Surgery Residency
The General Surgery Residency Program at Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a PGY4 resident to join our program for the 2025-2026 academic year (start date July 1, 2025).
Prerequisites:
Applicants must be in good standing and on pace to complete (or have completed) PGY 1, 2, and 3 years of clinical training in an ACGME accredited general surgery residency program.

- Current CV
- Personal Statement
- ABSITE Score Reports
- USMLE Score Reports (must have passed Step 3)
- A copy of your most recent ACGME milestone ratings
- Current ACGME case log report
In addition, we require 3 current letters of recommendation from faculty who have worked with you in a clinical setting. One letter must be from the Program Director from your PGY3 year of training.
Letters should be submitted directly by the faculty or a coordinator to kmcdonald@houstonmethodist.org.
Please note that our institution is only able to sponsor J-1 visas.
