Plastic Surgery Research Fellowship

The Department of Plastic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic is accepting applications for a funded research fellowship position. This is a two-year appointment, scheduled to begin in June 2026.

The Cleveland Clinic Department of Plastic Surgery Research Fellowship is a rigorous, comprehensive program designed to train future surgeon-scientists. Fellows gain experience in both basic science and clinical research, actively participating in:

  • Development and execution of research projects.
  • Preparation and submission of IACUC and IRB protocols.
  • Grant writing and submissions.
  • Animal and human subjects research.

In addition, fellows receive hands-on training in both basic and advanced microsurgery techniques, assist in organizing and teaching the microsurgery training course, and contribute to multiple projects in the anatomy lab involving cadaveric dissection.

The program’s mission is to develop strong research skills, advance clinical and scientific knowledge, and cultivate the next generation of leaders in plastic surgery within a supportive yet demanding academic environment.

Prerequisites:

  • Successful completion of USMLE Step 1 and Step 2, with Step 2 score >250.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications.
  • Strong commitment to a career in plastic surgery.
