Postdoctoral Psychology Residency

The Division of Psychology at Phoenix Children’s is pleased to announce a one-year postdoctoral fellowship/residency for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a dual focus on assessment and intervention.

This specialized training opportunity is designed for candidates seeking to build or deepen expertise in autism/IDD assessment and clinical intervention skills. The fellowship offers advanced clinical training in the assessment and treatment of both neurotypical and neurodivergent children. Particular focus within the intervention training is given to conditions including tic disorders/Tourette Syndrome, body-focused repetitive behaviors, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, phobias, and selective mutism—often in the context of complex comorbid psychological and medical diagnoses.

Prerequisites:

Applicants should have substantial clinical experience with children.

  • PhD/PsyD in Psychology
  • Completion of APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship, experience in assessment and with evidence-based treatments and developmental disabilities
  • Standardized assessment tools for cognitive, developmental, behavioral and psychological functioning for toddlers through adults

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hospital/tertiary medical center-based care
  • Coursework in child development and developmental psychopathology

  • Expected degree conferral date. Please note, training hours during postdoctoral residency/fellowship will not start to accrue towards minimum hour requirement until after degree is conferred.

  • Three letters of recommendation.
