Surgical Pathology Fellowship
The Department of Pathology at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC, offers a one-year Surgical Pathology Fellowship with subspecialty focus on Women’s Pathology (Breast and Gynecologic) or Gastrointestinal-Pancreas-Hepatic Pathology. Areas of focus will be documented on the graduation certificate.
Fellows will work closely with subspecialty trained and expert pathologists in the field. The program provides graduated responsibility to ultimately independent sign-out privileges as a junior attending in a supervised and supportive environment. The educational experience includes participation in tumor boards, consensus conferences, intraoperative consultation and teaching opportunities. Fellows may choose to have training in a broad spectrum of subspecialty areas as well. Elective and research time can be used to pursue additional subspecialty training in other areas or to work on research projects.
Prerequisites:
MD or DO degree and applicants must be American Board of Pathology eligible or certified. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. A DC Medical license is required.
