Thoracic Pathology Fellowship
The Thoracic Pathology Fellowship is a one-year ACGME-accredited program offered by the Department of Pathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The program consists of a one-year rotation at UT Southwestern Medical Center, including William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital and Parkland Health and Hospital System. There are approximately 3,000 thoracic pathology cases, 210 adult thoracic consults, 20 pediatric lung disease consults annually, and access to thoracic pathology material from approximately 150 adult autopsies.
The program strives to provide fellows with the knowledge and tools to be independent Thoracic Pathologists. The program also introduces the fellow to numerous principles and concepts in the field of Thoracic Pathology and heart and lung pathology. Through scholarly work and clinical acumen, our program will produce a clinician, teacher, and scientist who can effectively practice Thoracic Pathology in academics, the private sector, or in public health. It also promotes patient health and a healthy society, enabling individuals to achieve their full potential.
