Urology Robotic / Oncology Fellowship
The Urology Robotic / Oncology Fellowship Program at Houston Methodist Hospital is a one-year intensive program accredited by the Texas Medical Board and Office of GME at Houston Methodist Hospital, designed to allow the graduating fellow to have advanced technical skills in laparoscopy, endoscopy, and robotic surgery to optimize patient outcome with minimally invasive surgical techniques.
The clinical year includes a broad experience in all aspects of robotic & and laparoscopic urological oncology procedures including single-port robotic surgery
Fellows will be involved clinically with several members of the department. The primary focus will be on minimally invasive approaches to urologic oncology, including a high volume of robotic radical prostatectomy, robotic radical cystectomy (with intra-corporeal diversion), and robotic renal surgery.
The fellow will also be exposed to robotic reconstructive urology, including augmentation cystoplasty and complex fistulas. In addition, this experience will be complemented by involvement in complex open urologic oncology, with a specific focus on locally advance renal and other retroperitoneal tumors.
