Baylor College of Medicine Program

The Baylor College of Medicine offers a one-year accredited Dermatopathology (Multidisciplinary) Fellowship, which is jointly sponsored by the Departments of Pathology and Dermatology. For the majority of the year, fellows spend their mornings signing out dermatopathology cases while their afternoons are typically allocated to clinical training in dermatology or anatomic pathology, depending on their background. Over four months of the fellowship, trainees will focus exclusively on dermatopathology. This curriculum ensures continuity of experience with the dermatopathology service, allowing fellows to build expertise under the mentorship of attending dermatopathologists. With access to a vast pool of over 10,000 dermatopathology cases, fellows will encounter a wide array of dermatopathological conditions throughout their training.

Fellows will engage in all relevant dermatology conferences and present didactic sessions, enhancing both their educational experience and their presentation skills. Application Requirements

The application process for the fellowship is conducted through an online system and entails a robust assembly of materials. Applicants must provide proof of a medical degree (M.D. or D.O.), and must be board certified or eligible in either Anatomic Pathology or Dermatology. Required documentation includes a completed House Staff Application, medical school dean’s letter, transcript, three letters of recommendation (with one from the residency program director), a curriculum vitae, a personal statement, and a copy of USMLE or COMLEX score reports. The submission of these materials must be completed online, ensuring a streamlined application process for prospective fellows.
