Competitiveness and Application Requirements

The residency program is considered competitive, favoring applicants with strong scores on the USMLE or COMLEX examinations (preferably above 230 for the USMLE or 500 for the COMLEX). Furthermore, international medical graduates must possess a valid ECFMG certificate along with having passed the TOEFL examination to qualify for a Michigan state license.

Prospective applicants who graduated from medical school more than three years ago are typically not considered unless extraordinary circumstances exist. The program demands passing results from both USMLE/COMLEX Steps 1 and 2 prior to application deadline, emphasizing a focus on recent academic performance.
