The Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (CCEP) Program at theKaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) is designed toprovide fellows with unparalleled training and exposure to a widerange of electrophysiology practices. As a tertiary referral centerfor twelve Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers,the program serves over three million patients, ensuring anextensive and diverse clinical experience.

Curriculum and Clinical Experience

The CCEP curriculum places a strong emphasis on hands-onexperience. Fellows are involved in all aspects of clinicalelectrophysiology, including complex device implants and advancedprocedures. Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellows rotate betweenelectrophysiology (EP) lab procedures and operating room (OR)device implants, totaling 60 work hours per week. Fellows havedesignated days off, alongside three weeks of vacation andpotential educational leave. This structured approach ensures abalanced exposure to both inpatient and outpatient settings,including weekly continuity clinics for evaluation and managementof patients with electrophysiologic disorders.

LAMC houses the regional cardiaccatheterization and electrophysiology labs, allowing fellows to beinvolved in innovative and state-of-the-art procedures such aspulsed-field ablation and leadless pacemakers.
