• Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas: This award-winning Level I trauma center sees around 80,000 pediatric patients annually, offering advanced pediatric emergency medicine care that encompasses NICU, PICU, and surgical services across a 46-county region.

• Dell Seton Medical Center: Notably the only adult Level I trauma center in the area, it partners with Dell Med’s Emergency Medicine Residency to deliver comprehensive emergency care.

• Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin: Featuring a Level III NICU, this facility is where fellows will have an opportunity to engage in a four-week NICU rotation, enhancing their pediatric emergency skills.

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship is structured for residents who have completed a three-year residency in either pediatrics or an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited emergency medicine program. The following prerequisites must be met:

• Graduation from a U.S. or Canadian medical school, or a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certification.

• Successful completion of all three steps of the United States Medical Licensing Examination or all levels of the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensure Examination.

• Submission of a complete application via the Electronic Residency Application Service, which includes letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and a medical school transcript.

Early application is encouraged, with review beginning on July 15 annually.

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship provides visa sponsorship for residents, including J-1 and H-1B visa types, supporting international medical graduates’ pursuit of this esteemed training program.
